Zero Gravity
If two people in space suits were to fight in a zero gravity environment, would their punches have effect?
My friend says most likely not, because in zero gravity everything would weigh less. It would be like hitting someone with a feather as opposed to a brick.
I say it's still possible to feel the pain from a punch even in space because of the force generated by you and your mass stays the same. I really don't know how to put it into words.
The only difference between a gravitational field and a zero-gravity environment is your weight - like you said, your mass does not change. When you hit somebody, the kinetic energy of your hit is transferred to his or her body; gravity does not enter the equation anywhere. The punches would have the same effect as they would on Earth.
