My new 100% custom hand built comp is freezing anytime I insert a cd (mobo/video card drivers)?
I just reformatted and I get all the way to the desktop. I want to install my drivers but any time I pop in a disk my computer freezes up. It is with my cords or what? PS. I don't know exactly which CD drive I have, all I know is that it's a Phillips DVD.

Go to your manufactures websites and download your drivers instead. You will get better ones there anyways... And if you say you used xp there is one of your problems. Vista is way better at finding drivers for main essentles than xp ever was. I have a Netgear router and if I start with a clean slate in xp I have to use the CD to get any internet at all. If I use Vista I get instant internet access through my netgear pci card and no problems with a CD or anything... Same thing with LAN connections. Also your graphics card or CPU might be freezing up due to heat, mainly the graphics card. You might want to start with the graphics drivers first and try to locate your temps on that.
