Why is the front wheel on big wheels so large? What is the engineering purpose behind this?
Why is the front wheel on a big wheel plastic tricycle so large? What engineering benefits does this give? Why would one do this? Does it make it faster than something comparable with a smaller front tire?
You have to peddle much less because it's big. To make the wheel rotate one whole time takes less work, and covers more ground than if it was smaller.
Yes, it makes it faster/covers more ground, with the same energy, as something with a smaller tire would.
