You do not give details of your cycling experience or area where you drive, but generally speaking, you get what you pay for. Wheels are at very cheap prices (in more ways than one) to very expensive ($ 1,000 per set). Since the wheels a bike is between you and the road and their performance is what keeps you rolling along its probably not a good idea to tighten the belt when replacing them. Go online to one of the sites of the bike and watch those that are available to get an idea of prices for new ones. Then, when you're Research on E-bay or sites such as www.roadbikereview.com you have an idea of what you should get for your money. A good set of wheels used for a novice rider would be a wise choice. Stick with brand wheels and you should be fine, but not set your price too low or you'll end up getting exactly what you paid for. 100 $ For a whole will not buy a lot of quality in a wheel.
