A good time for rollers?
I've been riding rollers for a few months now, and can usually turn out around 30mph over 25miles (or 50mins). However, despite rollers instinctively feeling harder than road, the speed is higher that I would achieve on a road course.
I was wondering if anyone knew what a good roller time was over 25miles, or even 10miles? Or just a general average I should be aiming for as a good time?
On the road I can usually do a 10 mile course at around 22mph on a good day (this is on a standard road bike, no aero or disks or anything fancy, aluminium frame not carbon). Hope this info helps.
The difference between being on the rollers and out riding on the road is you are stationary on the rollers, therefore not propelling yourself through the resistance of the atmosphere. Definitely not having a head wind on the rollers.
If you are in your 20's that is a good time. If you are in your 50's that is a fantastic time.
